34th General Support Group
(Aviation Support)

The 34th Group was specifically tailored to handle aviation and maintenance
support in Vietnam and was stationed at Tan Son Nhut under USARV. The 34th
Group, with units widely dispersed throughout Vietnam provided repair parts,
avionics and aircraft armament support. Units within the group, located as far
North as DaNang, and as far South as Vinh Long, provided Direct, General, and
Depot Maintenance to more than 4,000 aircraft in Vietnam. The 34th Group was
made up of about 5,000 military personnel, as well as 2,000 civilian technicians.
