The 118th Aviation Company served in Vietnam from June 1963
until August 1971. The unit
originated as the 33rd Transportation Company, flying H-21s. The 33rd Trans.
was in Vietnam
during 1962 and part of 1963, and then became the 118th Avn Co. The unit
turned in the H-21s
for Bell UH-1s. The 118th were known as the "Thunderbirds". The were
located at Bien Hoa.
